Meet the Founder

It startedwith a lovefor art.

Before Little&Loud even had a name, art was already a big part of my life.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved art. You’d always find me drawing, painting, coloring, sketching, or doing crafts.

It gave me somewhere to put my thoughts and imagination. For me, art wasn’t just a way to pass the time — it was a way to speak, and express my emotions when I was sad, angry, upset, scared or worried. It helped me feel heard and seen. Without even knowing, it was therapy!

At the same time, I’d always had a natural connection with younger kids. I loved being around them, and for a while I even wanted to be a teacher one day!

So at 14, I started puttingthose two worlds together...

I started running creative sessions for fun during the school holidays, doing what I love most — sharing the same expression I found through art, with kids like me.

Just like me

I noticed pretty early that kids would express things they wouldn’t normally say out loud. Some talked while they painted. Some told stories through their drawings. Some picked colours to show how they felt. Some were quiet and just created.

That’s what got me thinking about how art could give them another way to communicate. Just like it did for me. Because not saying something doesn’t mean you’re not feeling it.

Why it works?

Kids with kids.

I was not the adult, standing in front of them giving instructions or telling them what to paint, feel or how it should look. Instead, I was one of them — creating alongside them, talking to them, listening, and giving them room to just be themselves.

Being able to connect with kids my age and younger, making them feel comfortable enough to open up and express themselves through art, is what makes Little&Loud special and successful.

"Art can say the thingswe don't always know how to put into words."

— Myra, Founder of Little&Loud

And that's how Little&Loud has grown.

What started as a hobby since I was young, turned into an idea and program with nearly 50+ kids over the years. From Passion to Purpose :) The idea remains simple: give everyone some paint, give them paper, give them freedom — and see what they say.
